Lothar Burger

Biography

Prior to founding OPS, Lothar Burger held several CEO and management positions. His extensive knowledge, experience, and accomplishments in the advanced manufacturing world pertaining mainly to the machine tool, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic packaging, and automotive supply industries, Mr. Burger moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in June 1996 as a Project Coordinator for Chiron America Inc. Since then, he has been instrumental to the establishment and development of a number of German companies in the USA such as Bahmueller USA Inc., Team Technik USA, groninger USA, and Dhollandia LLC.

Mr. Burger oversaw the construction of groninger’s USA new 28.000 sqft manufacturing site as well as the 270.000 sqft production site for Dhollandia LLC.  Mr. Burger has spearheaded these initiatives to bring quality customer service and parts to the companies’ North American customers and the success of his efforts have been evident with the companies’ growth over the years.

Mr. Burger’s efforts have positively influenced the local economy in the greater Charlotte area as well as the local education system. He and his team implemented an apprenticeship program based on the German model that provides a unique career opportunity in the advanced manufacturing field in the US. Mr. Burger has played a key role in bringing attention to the Apprenticeship Charlotte program, which groninger USA is currently a part of, through recruitment events at local schools with the help of our partnership with CPCC. Additionally, Mr. Burger has started to work with Gaston College to set up a training program to continue investing in future talent needed to provide quality and well-performing products.
